Feast your eyes! My most recent review courtesy of a book reviewer from

My most recent review courtesy of a book reviewer from The BOOKlounge of Readers and Authors on Facebook. Look at this, how cool???

A five star review that reads:

" riggers: Scenes of violence and injury, oppression and prejudices, death.

Eyes of Violet by Toni Langley is a gripping YA fantasy that masterfully blends emotional depth, strong character development, and intricate world-building. The story follows Violet and her brother Ashton, who endure the torment of their father—a man obsessed...

Another five stars!

"First of all: this book is amazing. I was completely invested from the first page to the last. The storyline is so intricate and has the perfect balance of suspense and action. The banter was next level and made it so enjoyable to read, and overall, the writing style made it flow in a way that will keep you reading for hours.

The characters were multifaceted and detailed, making it so easy to connect with them (the good ones anyway), and it makes the story so much more...

I will just happily babble away here, it's how my brain works and provides fodder for this blogging business. Feel free to tell me to shut up at any point, but I can't promise I'll listen XD

Writing tip for y'all, for something a bit constructive. DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY. I don't care how 'cringey' and 'horrible' it is- if you don't have any of that, you won't have any of the good stuff later! Stepping stones, people, stepping stones!!

Also, post-it notes are your best friend, I have them...

Buy it! Five stars! This one I like as I have SUCH a pet peeve about

Five stars! This one I like as I have SUCH a pet peeve about siblings in media. Very rarely are they accurate portrayals of siblings and NO ONE calls their sibling 'sis/bro', that's weird.

Anyway... deep breaths, we'll fix it one book at a time XD

"Very enjoyable read, the characters are easy to empathise with and there's funny moments that the siblings have are very relatable and they actually sound like siblings not cliché. Highlights the importance of true family and chosen family"

I'm only so so with technology but that's what younger siblings are for! I just usually push buttons until something works XP

We're on Insta, I post alot of book updates there too and I've recently learned how to share things to my story. I'll get into the modern age eventually, I promise (she says with an uncertain smile)

@Langley_Writes

An excellent debut novel :D Another five star review, I do love them so!!

Another five star review, I do love them so!! Reads:

"An excellent debut novel! Page-turning pace and action with lots of twists & turns. Full of imagination and I reckon it would make a brilliant movie. The ending leaves you wanting more … quickly! Can’t wait for Book 2.

I reread this first book with the great new cover before starting book 2. Just as enjoyable the 2nd time around & with a brilliant new cover!"

My covers are pretty cool, I'm very proud of them :D

Anyone on Goodreads?? I use it for blogging stuff but also adding to a never-ending reading list!

Always open to recommendations, I'm sure I can get to them eventually :P

Five stars and reads:

"This was a really interesting mix of familiar superhero/fantasy themes, so there are flavours of X Men, Harry Potter, possibly even Buffy, but the writing style is so fresh, conversational and quintessentially British that it almost feels like its own genre.

Fast paced, the action develops in the first pages, it certainly left me ready to try the next book in the series."

Thank you XD (although we don't support Harry Potter here, nor its writer! Trans rights!!)

Another one! A five star review on the old cover again! Reads: "I

A five star review on the old cover again! Reads:

"I planned to write a lot of thoughtful comments on the book, but the ending took me completely by surprise. I need the next book right away, please! This one made me laugh and cry a few times, and that ending just came out of the blue. I hope the next one comes out soon."

I do love reviews! ^_^

In no particular order... ... one of the reviews kindly left on my book!

... one of the reviews kindly left on my book! Don't be confused by the cover, that's the original version. I've done them myself now XD

Four stars and reads:

"A mutant girl with a loving and protective non-mutant brother finds herself thrown into a world she could never have imagined, whilst escaping their violent father. As the girls powers are permitted to develop, so does the story, with twists and turns and a huge cliff hanger - on to book two."

A whole year since Books 1 and 2 came out! They grow up so fast :')

Happy birthday to you

You live in a zoo

You look like a monkey

Aaaaaand you smell like one too!

I'm researching a whole host of folklore for a future series (wait and see!) and this is fascinating, but so weird and morbid!

A 19th century (possibly Scottish) method of warding off fairies was to hang a pair of trousers off the end of the bed. In Wales, there's a water horse called Ceffyl Dŵr that entices people to ride on its back, flies into the sky and then dissolves, letting the rider fall to their death (why??) In parts of England, it was believed that pixies were the souls of children...

Psst! Hey! Hey, you! Stop what you're doing, just quick.Look

ADVENTURE!

... a frequently asked question- why do I hand-draw my covers?

Simple!

Because I want to!

I had a bit of an argy-bargy with a hybrid contract previously (#regrets) and when I got my rights back, I wanted to do things my way. They may not be of a 'professional quality', but they are mine. I get to decide the designs and the colours and I'm rather proud of them, considering 90% of my people-drawings turn out looking like slightly sculpted potatoes.

I had fun drawing them and revisiting...

I see you've stumbled upon my website! Fledgling it may be, but all good trees start as humble seeds :D

'Eyes of Violet' is my current ongoing series, a diverse YA low fantasy series BUT there is more to come in time! All sorts of nonsense being plotted over here, ghosties and horror and Eugene the Skeleton and and and... you'll have to wait and see ;)

Join us, join the dark side. Bonus content, deleted scenes and maybe a picture of a frog or something, who knows??
